Support
What is Equal Edge?
Equal Edge is a supportive platform that helps students — especially those navigating fast-moving higher education environments — stay organized, focused, and on track.
It brings your academic, work, and personal commitments into one clear view so nothing feels scattered. With built-in guidance and a supportive AI, you can break long-term goals into realistic milestones and turn overwhelming tasks into small, manageable steps with time estimates that make getting started feel clearer and more doable.
Along the way, you can track your energy, strengthen executive functioning skills using evidence-based strategies, and build habits that support both academic success and personal growth. Equal Edge helps you create systems that work for you and grow with you.
How does this app support neurodivergent students (e.g., those with ADHD or autism spectrum disorders)?
The app is tailored to the needs of neurodivergent students, offering features like time-blocking, visual planning, flexible scheduling, and task breakdowns that make it easier to see what’s coming up and what to work on next.
Larger activities are broken into smaller, manageable steps with time estimates to help students get started and stay on track, and the simple, straightforward interface is designed to reduce overwhelm.
How do I get started?
Getting started with Equal Edge is simple:
- Download Equal Edge from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
- Open the app and enter your name and email address. (We’ll use your email for password resets.)
- Create a password. Your password must be at least 8 characters long and include at least one letter and one number.
That’s it — you’re in.
If you ever forget your password, just select “Forgot password?” from the home screen. We’ll send a secure reset link to your email so you can set up a new one.
How do I create activities?
Schedule is where you turn big activities into clear, doable steps. Whether it’s writing a paper, cleaning your dorm, or going for a run, you can break any activity into manageable tasks and schedule it in a way that works for you.
Here’s how to create an activity:
- Go to Schedule.
- Tap the + symbol in the bottom-right corner to start a new activity.
- Add a title for your activity.
- Use the date and time selectors to specify a time, or select Anytime if it’s flexible.
Next, break it into steps:
- Tap Generate if you’d like Equal Edge to create a list of actionable tasks for you.
- Generated tasks will appear below your activity details.
- Tasks will be organized in a logical order and include time estimates to help you plan realistically.
- If you aren’t happy with the task list generated or you’ve made changes to the activity, tap Regenerate for a new set of task options.
- Prefer to add your own steps? Tap + Add to create and title tasks manually.
When everything looks good:
- Tap the blue Arrow icon in the bottom-right corner to save your activity.
You can always return to Schedule to view your scheduled activities, see them organized by day, and keep them moving forward.
What’s the difference between an activity and a task?
An Activity is the bigger commitment or goal — the project, assignment, or goal you want to accomplish. Tasks are the smaller, actionable steps that make up an activity. They’re the “how” you get it done.
For example, writing a paper for English class.
Activity: Writing English Paper
Tasks:
- Review the assignment instructions
- Ask professor any questions you have about the assignment
- Choose a topic
- Write a thesis statement
- Create a simple outline
- Write the introduction paragraph
- Write the body paragraphs
- Write the conclusion paragraph
- Check spelling and grammar
- Peer review
- Submit the paper
How can I view my schedule?
In Schedule, you can switch between Today, This Week, and This Month views to see your schedule at a glance.
Tap an Activity to see all the tasks it includes. Check off individual tasks as you complete them using the checkbox on the left of each task. When all tasks in an Activity are finished, use the checkbox on the right to mark the whole Activity complete.
If you want to remove an Activity, swipe left across the Activity to delete it.
